Michelle Clarke-Stables, also known as McStables,〔https://twitter.com/McStables〕 was born in 1977 in Stafford UK. Emerging British artist - known for colourful, spontaneous portrait work - Michelle currently lives and works in Yorkshire, England. Her last project, ''Snapshots of Familial Gazes'',〔http://www.thepoint.org.uk/article/brilliant-women〕〔https://www.artrabbit.com/events/michelle-clarke-stables-snapshots-of-familial-gazes〕 gained support from notable public figures Maya Angelou, Germaine Greer, Judi Dench, Michael Parkinson, Joanna Lumley and comedian Jo Brand.〔http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/yorkshire-living/arts/art/portraits-of-role-models-1-6409569〕 As part of this project she also painted playwright Githa Sowerby. Michelle is currently working on two projects. The first, ''Whatever They Said'',〔http://www.yorkpress.co.uk/leisure/exhibitions/11141110.Portrait_project_thrills_Yorkshire_artist/〕 is a portrait project which looks at the exchange of language through face-to-face conversations and found text. Subjects include, to-date: Egyptologist Joann Fletcher, comedian Arthur Smith, actor Judi Dench, and writer Joanne Harris. The second is a as yet untitled project celebrating the efforts of women in war. The finished piece will consist of a number of portraits of women who have contributed to the war effort.
Other recent work includes a piece commissioned by Jo Brand for (The Eve Appeal ). Michelle completed a portrait of the late comedian Linda Smith〔http://paddle8.com/auction/eveappeal/〕 who died from ovarian cancer. ==Life and Career==

Michelle studied Sculpture at Stafford Art College before completing her Fine Art degree at Leeds University. She went on to complete her Masters in Fine Art Practice at Leeds Metropolitan University.
